Virtual Design

We are a holistic design boutique servicing Toronto and the GTA, but we provide these services if you are outside of the area through our Virtual Design service. It is a great way to enlist the help of a professional if you are on a budget but still want a well-styled space.

Step 1

How it works

Our Virtual Design works much like our regular design projects except for a few key things:

  • All communication happens via email instead of face-to-face therefore we never actually visit your home unless you are local to our service area and opted for a site measure.
  • All products for Virtual Design projects are available through online and local retailers, as opposed to the custom and trade-only options we use for our Full Service design projects.
  • Once we have received all of the pertinent information we can start to work on your project. In 4-6 weeks, you will receive a personalized plan for creating an Alicia Ruach Design + Co. inspired interior.

What you can expect to receive

  • Drawings, documents, mood boards and photographs with the specifics for your design project.
  • The files you receive include a concept board, a floor-plan of your room, furniture placement drawn to scale, selections of furniture and larger accessories, elevations (per project) of important details for your space, window treatment design, an organized shopping guide complete with pricing, and thorough instructions on how to implement your design.
  • One revision is included and must be requested within 14 days of receiving your design plan. Any additional revisions will be charged an hourly fee.

How to get started

  • Once we receive your payment, we will get started on your customized Virtual Design.
  • We will email you within 3-4 business days the welcome package which includes the Virtual Design Agreement, Style Assessment and instructions.
  • We then ask you to forward digital photos of the space or spaces that we will be working on.
  • We will need accurate measurements of the space we are designing. We will provide you with step-by-step instructions for both measuring and photographing your space to ensure we have all of the pertinent information needed to get started.
  • In the Style Assessment we will need an idea of the below:
  • Your budget for the room’s furnishings
  • An idea of what you love and the feel you want to achieve in your space. We gain insight for this  during the Style Assessment, as well as, inspiration photos that you collect from magazines, blogs and other sources. These images can be emailed to us.
  • A status email will be sent to you at least once per week with the progress until the final design is sent to you. We will also respond to any questions or concerns you may have emailed to us, in this weekly status email.
